How to Build a Vertical Planter {The Home Depot DIY Workshop} — Decor and the Dog

Last week I mentioned that we were teaming up with The Home Depot to co-host a few workshops in 2015.  Our first workshop is this coming Saturday and we will be building a vertical planter.  (Sign up for the free workshop at your local The Home Depot right here!)
To prepare for the workshop we needed to construct a vertical planter of our own.  The inspiration project was built next to a fence.  We aren't allowed fences in our neighborhood so we needed to get creative.  We decided on this vertical plant wall on our back patio.

How to Paint Kitchen Cabinets

Adding glass to just one set of cabinets had the biggest impact in my kitchen. This project was a lot easier than I expected, but I have to admit that cutting out those panels requires a little bit of guts.  Although I did mine a little differently in the end, I got my courage from Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia. Her post gave me the push I needed to go for it. Hopefully mine will do the same for you!

Who knew there were so many ways to use rubbing alcohol? Everyone should pick up a cheap little bottle of this stuff if they don't already have it in the house!

If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time at all, you’ve probably seen me mention my love of using rubbing alcohol around the house. It’s good for so many things! I seem to learn a new way to make my life easier and cleaner with rubbing alcohol almost every week, I swear. So if you haven’t tried it out yet, you’ve got to! Go pick yourself up a bottle for a buck or less and then check out this quick list of some of my favorite uses to get you started.

How to Restore Grout

I hate grout. Actually, hate really isn’t a strong enough word. I detest grout. Even the nasty word itself is hard to say. If I could rid my home of all tile and the necessary grout that goes with it…I would. My dream is to have a grout-less house.
